Three orphan kittens had their lives spared thanks to an Alberta man and his warm cup of coffee.
Kendall Diwisch, of Drayton Valley, Alta., shared in a Facebook post last week that he encountered the abandoned animals frozen to some ice on a backroad near an oil well where he works.
In a video that captured the rescue, Diwisch can be seen pouring a thermos of coffee onto the tails of the kittens, which were previously frozen into the ground.
“They had to have been there all night,” he wrote in his post. “Took them home, fed and watered them they look to be healthy and friendly.”
A number of days later, Diwisch updated Facebook followers to say that all three kittens found their forever home after being claimed by a local Drayton Valley family.
“All three are eating and drinking and very energetic,” he wrote. “Thanks for everyone’s consideration and offering to take them very appreciated.”
