Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in Calgary to film Jumanji sequel

A star-studded crew of celebrities have landed in Calgary.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Nick Jonas and Jack Black are in Alberta for a number of days to film part of a Jumanji sequel.

Johnson, who has a connection to the city from a short stint playing for the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders, confirmed his presence in a sentimental post on Instagram where he let followers know he was happy to be back.

“My brain was flooded with crazy experiences here,” he wrote. “This is the city where me having $7 bucks in my pocket all began. I have a deep reverence for this town.”

The $7 that Johnson mentions in his post refers to the amount of money he had in his pocket when he was cut by the Stampeders just two months after the season started.

Prior to Calgary, the movie’s cast and crew were in Atlanta working on the film for nearly three months.

Hart, who posted a series of videos with co-stars Jonas and Black making brief cameos, gave followers a sneak peak at filming taking place in wintery mountains outside of Calgary.

“This is how we gotta get to and from set today — snowmobiles,” Hart said in a recent story he posted yesterday. “It’s extremely cold up here.”

The filming in Alberta is expected to last four days.
