Margaret Trudeau is set to perform a solo show at a comedy club in Chicago.
The mother of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will debut the autobiographical production — Certain Woman of an Age — at the UP Comedy Club at Second City in Chicago on May 9.
“My life for so many years was a reality show,” she told the Chicago Tribune. “Now I will be able to put that on the stage.”
The show, which Trudeau co-wrote, is being billed as an “intimate staged performance” that “follows the compelling story of one of the world’s most fascinating figures, chronicling her courageous public and private journeys.”
Trudeau told the Tribune that she chose the Chicago venue for her stage debut because of her long friendship with Diane Alexander, the Canadian wife of Second City’s owner, Andrew Alexander.
The show will run through to Mother’s Day.
