Most of us… still believe in public-private partnerships

A majority of Canadians support public-private partnerships as a way to build new infrastructure, according to a new Nanos Research study.

The poll found 64 per cent of respondents think public-private partnerships are a good way of building the country’s hospitals, courthouses and roads. Public-private partnerships use private financing to build projects that are still owned and operated by the government.

But when it comes to budget overruns in such projects, 38 per cent of Canadians blame the private sector partners for charging too much.
